I’ve never been one for the humble garter stitch. I don’t really like it’s raw, unprofessional look. My inability to have every stitch perfect, with flawless tension, infuriates me.
I have discovered however, that I love garter stitch, the way it shows off the subtle colour changes in this wool, how it displays the bold colour changes in a subtle way. How quickly it knits up.
I was going to knit it with a feather and fan lace stitch, but the garter stitch border seemed just right. I’m planning on edging it in satin ribbon, because it’s nice to have some small luxuries in life. Progress to date: 13.5 cm.

those colours are gorgeous. i agree- garter stitch is great.
