Wow

I got invited to Ravelry the other day. Wow. I dind’t realise how much I would like it and be able to use it. It won’t replace blogging at all- is a total compliment, with built in integration with your blog and fickr account. If you’re already in please add me as a friend- spinningayarn- and if you’re not on the waiting list, but are even a little knitty/crochet, go get on it now! (Not sure if that first link will work if you aren’t a member? The second one will though!)

Also Wow… Spirit Cloth. I found her the other day, from I don’t know where when I was browsing around, and instantly added her to my feeds. Her work is so magical and inspiring. Check it out!

Another Wow- it’s practically summer! Daylight saving whisked an hour from under our feet in the wee small hours of last night, and we will be getting an extra hour’s sunshine in the evening from now on. Bring on the bbq! Yay!

And because we haven’t had enough Pedro cuteness for a while (and I’m pretty sure it’s against the rules to post without a photo)

Pedro

WOW! Hasn’t he grown? He’s just passed the 9 month mark. (And is currently in time out for scratching up the deck. Tasha, you really don’t want him to come and live at your house. Truly. Plus, I would miss him too much!)

On the bus- a bit blurry because the bus is always vibrating!

Busy Busy

I’ve been super busy with uni and general life the last few weeks- so other than the mandatory knitting project to keep me sane, there hasn’t been alot of crafting going on.

Today I spent some quality time in the craft room.

Yeah I know, it looks like all the cupboards and drawers threw up.

Magnolia freezer stencils- loving the spots!

And a tri-colour stencil- so much fun! And sewing with felt- are we digging the kowhai love?

My Lucky Day

A wee while ago (I live a long way away) I entered a couple of giveaways, a couple of days apart, and was lucky enough to be a winner in both!

Sherrie, from Frenchy’s Finds, made some delicious oatmeal, milk and honey soap- smells good enough to eat!- all packaged up in a handy box, which is now my pencil case. She thoughtfully cut the soap into shower sized and handbasin sized peices.

The second giveaway was over at The Patchwork Dress, and Caireen sent a whole package of goodness too!

A drawstring bag, with some vintage sewing supplies, lovely spring themed pages from a magazine, and can you see the spotty fabric!!?

Not sure if that guy in the back is having a wee jive?

Cards

And two beautiful cards- stunning photograpghy!

Thankyou so much to both you lovely ladies! Both packages really brightened my day!

Meanwhile, death is swooping over our home.

Ants!

One week of warm weather and the ants are back, as strong in numbers as ever! At the end of the last ant season I started using this bait- NO ANTS! But I don’t know if the ants died because they ate the poison, or because it got too cold. Hopefully it was because they ate the poison, and I can nip this summer’s colonies in the bud- making it safe for jam to reign supreme again!

This kiwifruit was perfectly ripe, the perfect temperature, with smooth texture. Can you almost taste it?

Driving to Uni

Hagley Park, how I adore thee.

::tan+white::

I thought this one would be tricky, till I realised as I woke up that I was sleeping between a tan duvet cover and white sheets. My bedside table is tan coloured wood and I have a white container sitting on it. In the library this afternoon I found these books.

A project with no pictures.

I graduate at the end of the year. 3 years of Uni (tacked immediately on the end of 13 years at school) have been a long haul for me. I started looking for a job a wee while back, but only applied for one about a month ago. After a 1.5 hour interveiw and a gruelling 2 hour psychosymmetric test I was offered the only “real” job I have ever applied for!

You are now looking at the Quality Assurance Technician for the AgResearch Biosecurity and Biotechnology Section. Fancy huh?! (I get a desk!!)

And because no post is really a post without a photo,

Red Onion

Our fridge is funky, not in a good way. It freezes stuff, even on the warmest setting. It froze this onion yesterday and all the middle bits came sticking out!
