Today was much better- actually just a normal day, but seems like it was fabulous, purely by comparison. Sunshine, a romp at the dog park and a rainbow paddlepop- sounds pretty good eh?!

I’m going to take the opportunity for a wee blog break while the camera is in the shop- because no one likes a post without pictures, but I’ll leave you with a couple of links to my new found kindred crafting spirits in Christchurch. (Last night was awesome!)

My day was Crap

And there aren’t even any pictures to go with it.

This morning I couldn’t find my keys. Which would normally be ok, but I had to go to my old work and drop off my key and swipecard. Yah. (I did find them, but then I was late- which is probably why everything else went wrong.)

At the supermarket (buying chocolates to give to my old work) everything fell out of my wallet.

I got to Uni and pulled my bag out of the car, but instead of grabbing the two handles I grabbed between the two handles. My camera flew out of the bag as it hit the ground and bounced on the concrete. Relatively minor damage (wee bit of plastic that holds the card/battery cover closed) but it’s at the shop. (Hence no photos.)

You’d think it would get better no?

It kinda did- I bought some new underwear- but on the way to the store I realised I wasn’t wearing the watch I had put on that morning. That’s right folks, I lost the watch Michael gave me for my birthday last year.

Oh and we got cancelled on for meeting up with friends tommorow.

But the good news:

I have a “spinning a yarn” stamp. (Would show photos, but ya know)

I am meeting up with a bunch of Christchurch crafters for the first time tonight.

Tommorow is a new day.

Lemony Fresh

Today we cleaned the fridge (major) and tidied and rearranged the lounge. Such a good feeling!

The hope is that with a good clean (and I pushed something back to where it looked like it should be) the fridge will stop freezing things. I am reasonably hopeful, but we scoped out a new one at the mall the other day.

And the lemons looked cheerful sitting in their white bowl- such a good colour combination!

Meet a fun guy*.

Pithomyces chartartum.

Actually, it’s more his (her?) spores. Which contain a toxin which cause facial eczema in sheep. Fun eh?

I’ve been spending the last 3 weeks studying this wee guy in the lab.

I though it was quite neat that he too has polka dots.

You can almost see the pink.

*Get it? Fungi? Haha maggi cracks me up.

One little zippered purse (aka ::pink+brown)

A new style for me- trial and error (now where did I put that unpicker? Under a big pile of felt at the end of my ironing board, aah here it is!) With some kinks to iron out, and details to add yet.

I am getting closer to the possibility of etsy. A leap of faith to come prehaps?

Off I go to my sewing room!
