A while back I ordered some cotton from Yarn Traders.

I found them very friendly and helpful to deal with (they sent me samples before I bought), with quick delivery of the goods. And boy are they good. And so good together. (I also got some green.) I think this is on the way to being a chrissy presse, but I’m trying to get that hunting hat finished first! In the meantime, I used my new winder to turn them into beautiful balls.

My two boys last night while watching t.v.

I dare you to take it off me.

The crazy dance. I’m sure if you have dogs, you know what I mean.

Plum tuckered out.

Well that’s actually the freezer, which is the temperature of the fridge.
Crash course in fridges- the freezer bit makes the cold air and shoofs it down into the fridge. I while back we had a wee issue where it was shoofing too much and the milk was frozen.
The air our freezer is generating is a bit like a warm and pathetic freezer. I think it’s warmer in the fridge than in the kitchen. Needless to say we are going shopping tommrow, until then, the milk’s hanging in the freezer.

Yesterday we finally got the bbq Mum and Dad gave Michael for his 21st birthday out of it’s box and set it up, the proceeded to cook stuff.

(Courgettes, mushrooms and homemade meat patties- yum!)
It’s very cute, and as well as being used to grill you can cook whole chickens in there and smoke stuff like fish too! I think we will have a fun time this summer working out how to use it properly.
Also I signed up for NaBloPoMo, which may be a little ambhitious, and I’m sure the posts will go from interesting to boring and mundane, but we’ll see how we go eh? There’s a badge, and I’ll get it sometime when I’m not procrastinating study for the exam I have in less than 24 hours. Heh.

The mother of all jackpots.

I’ve been wanting one for ages and eyeing them up new, and on trademe. It was in its original box on top of a shelf, I amost missed it. I wonder how many people have looked at it and dismissed it as a box of junk?
Also, where else can you get 11 zips for $5, mostly still in their original packaging?

As well as sweet embroidered linens- 6 cascading posies of flowers, in different colours. A too perfect pick me up in the middle of an average day- 1st exam this morning!

Once I got them home I found that I hadn’t noticed in my frenzy that they were both of a wearble size. And turns out they are oh so cosy!

The green one had a wee hole which I stitched up and put an applique on top of.

The embroidered flower is from one of the linens I picked up- and both of them are now full of holes where I cut out all the flowers- I got a bit carried away!

I’m planning on adding some brooch backs and maybe… just maybe…setting up shop.

While I’m at it, I better show you the stamp I had made at the stamp shop, which is quite conveniently located around the corner from our house. (In the opposite direction is a scrapbooking shop. Oh the shopping goodness!!) I’ve been getting a bit carried away stamping everything, and also bought some alphabets, but that’s another post.
I’ve been really happy with the stamp and it was cheap ($14) -I would really recommend getting it done if you’re even vaguely contemplating it!

A wee thankyou gift from Louise which arrived exactly when it was needed the most- a roadblock in the fungus studies. How is it crafters know when crafters need a pick-me-up! Thanks for lightening my mood Louise!
