Last Supper

Last night, far too late, I put on the batch of cinnamon rolls I promised Michael I would make for him to take to work today, for his last morning tea on rotation in Christchurch. The 3 weeks he’s been home have gone far too fast.

This morning I got up far too early to roll out the dough, spread it with butter, sugar and cinnamon and raisins, and bake the rolls.

We left together this morning, and when I got home the first thing I spotted behind Michael’s shoulder was his lunch, sitting on top of the cake tin.

Don’t worry- we’ve almost eaten them all, and I have another batch baking in the oven.
